They are in need of books from The Commandant's Reading List. There is a link to that list further down on the right side of my blog but their site is a little googlie so I've placed the list at the end of this post. As you will see by the list, Marines are required to read a WHOLE lot of books...No dumb jarheads in my Marines!
Buy these books on eBay or Amazon used books or Military Uniform Exchange (run by retired Marines) and let's fill up that library at TQ. Used books are fine as long as they are in pretty good condition. Half Priced books in the DFW area will have many of these titles, I know cuz I shop there and have read many of these books. Your area may have a half priced or recycled book store too. (Vegas Art Guy adds that eBay has a store called Half.com that has great half priced books and to check with your local library that might have a used book store as well.)
For those of you who don't know John Folsom, he's a reserve Marine colonel (known as "Cave Dog" to his fellow Marine officers) and the founder of Wounded Warrior Family Support Group in Nebraska. His financials are clearly posted on the website and I can promise you that he doesn't waste one penny of the donations on anything frivolous.

I am now on active duty again and have deployed to Iraq for the second time. I am assigned to 1st Marine Logistics Group as the Camp Commandant of Camp Al Taqaddum. "TQ" is just west of Baghdad on the northeast corner of Lake Habbaniya. It is a large sprawling base that is home of several thousand Marines, Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen.
We have a modest library on the camp and they are in need of more books. The library staff really wants copies of the Commandant's Reading List and other books and DVDs that would be of interest to young men and women 18-30. College prep books would also be welcomed.
